They can go up to 30 mph in flying pace (otherwise known as “skeið”). It’s one of the most incredible feelings, to ride a horse in true flying pace. You don’t move at all in the saddle and it really does feel like flying :)

That sounds absolutely incredible. To ride an Icelandic horse properly is definitely on my bucket list.
